Safer Dallas has raised
over $21 million for
public safety initiatives.

During the past 15 years, Safer Dallas has funded Project Starlight, iWatch Dallas, DPD to You(th) Summer Jobs Program, Caruth Police Institute, neighborhood security cameras, bait cars, narcotics dogs, sexual assault programs, body cameras, and various other initiatives. Every dollar donated to Safer Dallas from the Charity Golf Tournament is used to support the Dallas Police Department and their needs that are not funded by the city.

Impact Highlights

  • Worked closely with DPD on the launch of the DPD to You(th) Program - a summer jobs initiative and mentoring program targeted at at-risk youth. 
     

  • Partnered with Technology Companies to launch Project Starlight Pilot Program, resulting in a successful Proof of Concept. Safer Dallas will launch an enhanced citywide system in 2022.
     

  • Over $1,000,000 has been donated in goods and services to test this concept.
     

  • Raised $10,000,000 for Caruth Police Institute for leadership training.
     

  • Created iWatch, the first city police department smartphone app in the country for anonymous tips. 
     

  • Instrumental in helping create S.A.N.E. (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) programs for hospitals across North Texas; over $2,000,000 raised for this endeavor. 
     

  • $5,000,000 was donated for officers' cell phones, car cages, and patrol car computers. 
     

  • $650,000 to fight crime in 5 "Hot Spots" identified by Dallas Police at high crime areas. 
     

  • $2,000,000 donated for crime-fighting technology; elevated digital cameras, bait cars, security cameras, bait homes under construction, and weaponry for officers.
